As we wrap up National Activity Professionals Week today, we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all of our amazing Program Directors (PD). Everyone knows these individuals are the heart and soul of daily life within our communities. Within all JEA Senior Living communities, they are the ones charged with creating the programming for residents and families that aligns with our Meaningful Moments philosophy of care.
“We endeavor to know each resident’s unique life story in order to create moments that are meaningful to them personally. Does he have a passion for music? Was she a master gardener? By focusing on what our residents have always been passionate about, we are able to design programs that add meaning and value to their lives, in turn, allowing them to feel comfortable in their environment.”
In celebration of National Activity Professionals Week, we’re featuring 5 “JEA Program Director Mentors” within the JEA family. Based on their experience and extensive knowledge of our unique approach to programming, they serve as leaders and mentors to their peers.
As mentors, their role is to assist with the on-boarding of new PDs in the company. They are the communities that provide the ‘shadow experience’ for new PDs in the company so that they can experience a day in the life of a Program Director in JEA. In addition, they host monthly best practice calls within their respective regions which allow fellow program directors an opportunity to connect with their peers, share creative ideas and be a support for one another. PD Mentors also have a solid understanding of “Meaningful Moments” philosophy and fully execute on those standards. In short, they are our rock stars.
