Thank You, Veterans

With the 4th of July just one day away, most people’s minds are on picnics, barbecues, and fireworks. Well, at least they would be if this was a normal year. But as we all know, 2020 has been nothing but normal. Nevertheless, our team finds ourselves thinking about the true meaning of Independence Day. That just a few hundred years ago in 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence in pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness.

This was a victory that was made possible through the courage, strength, and tenacity of our country’s founding fathers. Through the years there have been a great many men and women like them. People who are willing and able to serve and protect our country, making the United States, “the land of the free, because of the brave.”

Sinceri Senior Living wants to thank all Veterans for their service to our country. We have special respect and admiration for all who serve and have served in our nation’s military and armed forces. It is out of this great admiration that our team is passionate about serving veterans and their families through our unique Veteran’s resources. These provide much-needed tools and counsel for families and their Veteran loved ones as they navigate placement in a senior living or memory care community.

Our partnership with Elder Veterans Legal Aid Group, P.C. has been an incredibly valuable resource for Veterans and their families. Elder Veterans Legal Aid Group is a nationwide law firm specializing in veteran’s benefits to assist our residents in understanding and determining whether or not these important benefits may apply in their particular situation. This is a resource that our communities offer free-of-charge to potential residents, which assists families with the logistics and navigation of Veteran-specific resources and funding opportunities which can help pay for long-term care services and senior living community care.

We recently asked Corrie van Rensburg, Administrator of Cedar Ridge Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Cedar Park, TX to share her experience with the resident admission process and the challenges faced by many families: “Cost is the biggest challenge for families when selecting a Memory Care Community, that is a huge obstacle for a lot of families as they did not prepare for such a horrible illness to come across their path.” Recently the Cedar Ridge team was working with a resident family to place their Veteran loved one, Corrie goes on to share, “Elder Veterans Legal Aid Group was contacted and they jumped right in to get the necessary information from the family. They could immediately tell the family whether they will qualify for VA benefits or not. They resolved the financial obstacles for families and helped them make a decision there and then to select Cedar Ridge as a community. We love working with them!”

A Cedar Ridge resident family member had this to share regarding this special and unique benefit: “I would tell anyone who was seeking to apply for Veteran’s benefits to hire this organization.  Navigating the current VA system can be complicated, intimidating, and overwhelming at times, and having these professionals help to guide one through the system is priceless.”

It is our privilege to offer this resource to our potential Veteran residents and their families. Today and every day, we are incredibly appreciative of all servicemen and women – we salute their service. We remember the Bold Stripes, Bright Stars, and Brave Hearts. Our heartfelt thanks to all those who serve and have served. Happy 4th of July, from all of us at Sinceri Senior Living!
